Troubleshooting
For new customers, Wordbee Beebox is a 'Software as a Service' (SaaS) application. This section of the documentation is retained for existing customers who have the application installed on a local server.
Registration of Beebox Fails
After first installation of the Beebox, you are asked to register the software in the Beebox web user interface.
Registration fails if the Beebox cannot establish a connection to the Wordbee license server.
You must make sure that your firewall(s) authorize outbound SSL access on port 32572. The access can be restricted to host api.wordbee-translator.com (also see Install Beebox software).
Connecting to a Translation Vendor Fails
When you attempt to connect to a translation vendor you may get an error message stating that the vendor is not found:
Either the vendor key (a URL) is not correct or the Beebox cannot connect to the Wordbee Translator API.
In the latter case, please check your firewall:
Firewall is Ok But I Still Cannot Register or Connect to a Vendor
There may be multiple causes such as a DNS resolution problem or a proxy server configuration.
The Beebox connects to api.wordbee-translator.com. If domain name resolution is not working on the server, the connection will fail. Please make sure to enable DNS services. In the worst case please look up the IP address for api.wordbee-translator.com and add a line to your server "hosts" file (typically inside C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ ). Though, this is not recommended since we use redundant Internet connectivity with 2 IP addresses. Hence if the one you specify is down, there will be no automatic failover.
A proxy server may also prevent proper functioning. Please ensure:
- Keep Alive should be disabled. This may affect both the Beebox user interface as well as Beebox API use. If you see breaking connection occasionally but not systematically then this is likely the cause.
- Verify timeout limitations. Make sure that a proxy server does not drop a connection after too short an interval (set above 2 minutes)
If your issue cannot be resolved please contact support at wordbee.zendesk.com.
Processing Microsoft Office binary formats fails
If you need to process .doc, .xls, .ppt files then you need to install Microsoft Office 2010 or later to the Beebox server.
In addition, some configuration is required.
The web browser displays a "compilation error" after successful product installation
