Install Beebox software
For new customers, Wordbee Beebox is a 'Software as a Service' (SaaS) application. This section of the documentation is retained for existing customers who have the application installed on a local server.
Requirements
Take a look at the system and network requirements
- Make sure to be logged into the target PC or server with your administrator credentials.
Install or upgrade the software
Download the latest version of the Beebox setup program and run it. Please ask Wordbee for the download link.
If you are upgrading the software to a newer version (see release history), you do not need to uninstall the current software first. Simply run the setup program.
The welcome dialog opens:
Click Next and follow the instructions. The setup may download and install missing Windows components such as a newer Microsoft .Net Framework version.
Upon completion, the Beebox user interface (http://localhost:8089) opens in a web browser. Click the Login link.
Register software (new installs only)
If this is the first time you install the software, you will be asked to register for a 30 days trial. If you are upgrading the software, then the Beebox finds back the previous license information and registration is skipped.
Changing Port Number or Activating SSL
By default, the Beebox UI and API responds at http://localhost:8089.
If you want to change the port number or activate SSL you must do so after each Beebox software install or upgrade (the setup program resets defaults).
Authorize external access to UI or API
If you want to open the Beebox UI or API from your internal network or outside your organization then you will likely need to add some firewall rules to the Beebox URL.
Authorize external CMS and UI access
Activate support for Microsoft Office binary files
If you intend to process the binary formats .doc, .xls, .ppt then you need to install Microsoft Office 2010 or later. For the new .docx, .xlsx, .pptx formats no such installation is required.
Install Office before you install the Beebox (or reinstall Beebox afterward) and then read:
Prepare Office for use by Beebox
