Language Versions

Items Without Content

Since Sitecore version 9, it’s possible to add language versions for the item, which doesn’t have translatable content. Whenever the user clicks on the ‘Get Translations’ CTA, the language version for the associated non-translatable items, get created for the selected translation bundle.

To configure that behavior, please ensure to update following settings @ /sitecore/system/Modules/Beebox/Translation Settings/Translation Settings

In the field, ‘Target Version’, please choose the ‘Smart Version’ option. In addition, please tick the “Create language versions for items, which doesn't contain any translatable content.” Here is the screenshot.

Target Versions

There are 3 types in the configuration which can be used:

• Same Version - Connector will always create a higher version of the received translation.

• Higher Version - If there is an existing language version of the Sitecore item then the connector will modify the existing version otherwise it will create a new language version.

• Smart Version - If the existing version is in a workflow or the revision ID of the existing version changed since the translation request, the connector will create a new version otherwise it will modify the existing version of the Sitecore item and the same workflow will be attached.
