Workflow

The SDL LiveContent Connector is implemented as a plugin for the Wordbee Beebox software. The Connector uses the LiveContent API to regularly poll the LiveContent outbox for new content to translate and it retrieves any such new content. This content is then processed by the Beebox. If a human workflow is configured, the Beebox sends translation jobs to the Molina Wordbee Translator platform. Whenever content is translated, the Beebox retrieves those and pushes them to the LiveContent Inbox (again via the LiveContent API).

Characteristics of this setup:

  • Supports any number of LiveContent sites on one or more servers.

  • Does not involve installing any custom software to LiveContent. Beebox calls the LiveContent API for all interactions.

  • Uses existing LiveContent functionality to select content for translation and save to LiveContent Outbox.

  • Uses existing LiveContent functionality to pick translated content from the LiveContent Inbox.

  • Can handle any amount of translation volume of transactions per day. Please see the Beebox installation manual for server sizing.

  • Requires the installation of Wordbee Beebox on a Windows server.

Beebox workflow options:

  • The Beebox can be configured for manual, automatic, or mixed-mode:

  • In automatic mode, the system runs unattended (“BlackBox”). The Beebox administrator can always review operations, content volume, etc. using the web-based UI.

  • In manual mode, the Beebox administrator would trigger each individual workflow step.

  • Mixed-mode refers to some steps done automatically and others manually

  • The Beebox can be configured to test-run operations using pseudo- or machine-translation. This is useful during setup and testing.

  • All operations are logged. Notification emails can optionally be sent.

Wordbee Translator integration:

  • Translation workflows are automatically created when the Beebox sends the content. Workflows can be created in one or more dedicated Wordbee Translator projects. This is configured once in the beginning.

  • When a workflow (such as translation > revision) is completed, content is retrieved by the Beebox. There is no other management intervention required. It is also not necessary to “finalize” Beebox jobs.
