Gist translation - Step 1
The system translates using a machine translation (MT) system and translation memories. We like to call this "enhanced" machine translation. Depending on the size and quality of the translation memories used, overall quality may be quite high but never come close to the level of human translation.
The purpose of the tool is to produce an approximate translation at low cost (up to certain volume limits, some MT systems may even be free).
It is the manager of the Wordbee Translator platform who defines machine translation system and memories used for your requests.
Human enhancement - Step 2
If a gist translation is not sufficient in specific cases, you can request a human post-edit.
This means that a professional translator will review all machine translations and fix any linguistic errors.
You can request post-edits this way:
- Click the Translate button and choose All Translations:
- Click the View online and request human editing link shown in the screenshot above.
- In the tool click the Recent Translations link. We see all our translations sent from Outlook:
Tick the document(s) to be post-edited on the right side and follow the instructions.
How much does this cost?
Prices for gist and post-editing are set by the manager of the Wordbee Translator platform, which can be your translation provider (LSP) or your corporate translation team.
