NEW New Standard Project Feature Allows Project Managers to Restrict Suppliers from Accepting Multiple Job Opening in the Same Workflow

Previously exclusive to Codyt, the functionality to regulate supplier task acceptance has been extended to Standard projects, offering enhanced control for project managers. Accessible through the "Workflow & Supplier" section on the project dashboard, managers can navigate to the "Job Openings" tab to implement new constraints. Options include prohibiting suppliers from taking on multiple job openings within the same workflow for identical documents and languages, restricting sequential job acceptance, or allowing unrestricted job acceptance. The feature is further customizable with additional parameters to fine-tune project workflows.

NEW Strengthened Security: Introducing a New Beebox API Authentication Method

We're pleased to announce that the /api/connect method now fully supports the POST verb, allowing for a more secure way to include credentials within the request body. We highly recommend utilizing this improved method instead of the existing GET /api/connect. For detailed information and guidance, please refer to our documentation at: https://help.wordbee.com/beebox/api-connect

NEW Word Count Profiles: Use Advanced Word Boundary Detection for Thai, Chinese, and Japanese Languages

While many languages commonly employ spaces to denote word boundaries, some languages, such as Thai, Chinese, and Japanese, rely on different methods or even lack explicit word boundaries altogether. We are pleased to introduce an optional feature that allows you to enable advanced word boundary detection for these languages, exclusively available with the 'MS Word' algorithm. By enabling this feature, the system will leverage the open-source ICU library, ensuring more precise word counts. It's important to note that when using this advanced detection, word counts may significantly increase compared to the default algorithm.

IMPROVED Improved Text Extraction for Translation

We have enhanced the reliability of text extraction for translation, addressing issues where selecting specific colors failed and occasionally extracted text outside the specified color range. Users can now experience more dependable text extraction, particularly in complex Excel documents.

IMPROVED Unified Deadline Alert System for Projects and Orders Dashboards

We've now enhanced the deadline alert display in both the Orders and Projects Dashboards, ensuring a consistent experience like what's already in place on the Jobs Dashboard. Specifically, as a deadline approaches, the alert will appear in orange to signal its impending due date. Should a deadline be missed, the alert will turn red, indicating that the task is overdue. This unified approach streamlines deadline management and maintains visual coherence across our systems.

IMPROVED Enhanced Consistency in Project Document Numbering Using Projectseqid

In this release, we've optimized the system to synchronize the 'projectseqid' placeholder in numerical formatting across both quotes and invoices. Consequently, the 'Quote No' and 'Invoice No' will consistently reflect identical 'projectseqid' values. This refinement promotes document uniformity and facilitates streamlined project tracking.

FIX InDesign Filter Update: Exclusion of Segments Comprising Only Line Separators

When processing an InDesign document, there was an issue where segments consisting solely of line separators could inadvertently be extracted into the translation editor. We have recognized that such segments should not be extracted or counted, and we have made adjustments to the filter accordingly. It's important to note that this change is considered a 'breaking change.' With the system update, documents that are currently in the process of translation may not automatically rebuild. In the event of such a situation, we kindly request users to re-upload the document and transfer any existing translations to ensure the completion of ongoing work.

FIX Improved Automatic Detection of XLIFF and XML File Encodings

When processing XLIFF or XML files, Wordbee has always made an effort to identify the file encoding. While UTF-8 has become the prevailing standard over the years, other encodings are still in use. In some uncommon instances, especially when emoticon characters were present, the system occasionally misinterpreted a UTF-8 file as an 8-bit encoding. To address this, we have refined our algorithms and now prioritize the encoding specified in the <?xml> node, ensuring more accurate detection and processing of XLIFF and any other XML files.

FIX Resolved Issue for QA Rule: Translations - Same for Different Source

We resolved a problem where ignore case searches were not functioning properly in the "Translations - Same for Different Source" QA rule.
Users can now reliably use the ignore case search functionality to identify translation inconsistencies that occur due to differences in case, even when the source text is the same.
