Once the add-in is installed, your Outlook shows a new Translate option in the Home ribbon. If, after installation, you cannot see this button please close and reopen Outlook.

First time users - Login

Click the Translate button. If this is the very first time, a login dialog opens:

Enter your Account ID, Login and Password. These are the same credentials you maybe already use to login to Wordbee Translator online.

If you do not yet have a login, please ask your translation provider. "Connect Online" sends you to the online login page for Wordbee Translator.

If you encounter login problems, please read this page.

Translate selected text

Go to an email and select some text. Then press the Translate button and choose Translate Selection:

A dialog opens to let you choose the language of the text and the language into which to translate:

The dialog proposes an option to get the translation pasted directly into your mail. Otherwise, it is shown in Microsoft Word.

After a few seconds the gist translation is ready and opens in Microsoft Word:

Translate attachments

If an email has attachments then you can get them translated. Let's look at this sample email with two attachments:

Click the Translate button, choose Translate attachments and click the attachment you want to get translated:

A dialog asks you for the languages and translation starts. Depending on the size of your document this may take anything from a few seconds to a few minutes.

A notification pops up on your screen (in the bottom right corner) when the translation was downloaded to your PC. Please read further:

Note: Some attachments (such as images) may be grayed and cannot be selected. Read an explanation here.

View completed translations

You view completed translations with the View translations option in the Translate button menu:

This dialog also shows any selected texts you had sent for translation.

The two icons on the right open the translated file or the folder containing the file, respectively. The latter is great if you want to copy or move the file.

Disconnect

The add-in remembers your credentials in encrypted form.

If you want the add-in to "forget" your login, click the About link:

Now, in the About dialog click Disconnect to remove the saved credentials. The next time you ask for a translation the login dialog will open again.

User interface language

In the About dialog above you can change the language of the tool.
