Translate selected text
Go to an email and select some text. Then press the Translate button and choose Translate Selection:
A dialog box opens to let you choose the language of the text and the language into which the text should be translated:
The dialog box gives you the choice of having the translation pasted directly into your mail or being opened in Microsoft Word.
After a few seconds, the gist translation is ready and added to your mail or opened in Microsoft Word:
Translate attachments
If an email has attachments then you can get them translated. Let's look at this sample email with two attachments:
Click the Translate button, choose Translate attachments and click the attachment you want translated:
A dialog box will then open, asking you to specify the languages and translation starts. Depending on the size of your document this may take anything from a few seconds to a few minutes.
A notification will pop-up on your screen (in the bottom right-hand corner) when the translation has been downloaded to your PC. Please read further:
Note: Some attachments (such as images) may be grayed and cannot be selected. Read an explanation here.
View completed translations
You can view the completed translations with the View translations option in the Translate button menu:
This dialog box also shows any selected texts you have sent for translation.
The two icons on the right open the translated file or the folder containing the file, respectively. The latter is great if you want to copy or move the file.
Disconnect
The Add-in remembers your credentials in encrypted form.
If you want the Add-in to "forget" your login, click the About link:
Once you're in About, click Disconnect to remove the saved credentials. The next time you ask for a translation, the login dialog box will open again.
User interface language
From the About dialog box (above) you can also change the language of the tool.
