Besides the TBX fields, you can also configure your own custom fields in your terminology management tool.

  1. Go to Settings and search for Terminology Management.

  2. Click on Configure to access the Customization page of Terminology management and TBX.

3. Go to Access rights > Custom field and click on Configure custom fields.

4. Customization screen opens. Select Resources to define additional input fields for your translation memories and terminology databases. You can create up to 20 custom fields per category.

5. Use Add to create a new custom field.

6. The Edit custom field screen opens and you can create your custom field.

  • Name of the custom field you want to add

  • Fill in a description.

  • Select the resource type where you want the custom field to appear.

  • Select the type of field:

    • Text field

    • Pick list

    • Hyperlink

    • Image

    • Checkbox

  • Indicate whether the field is mandatory or not.

  • Indicate the maximum text length, if applicable.

  • Set access rights for internal users: hidden, can view, can edit.

  • Set access rights for external users: hidden, can view, can edit.

  • Click OK to save the changes.
