In this section you can find your source files as well as the reference materials that have been provided for your job.

You can also include attachments (invoice, external documents) to support your work.

Working offline:

To continue your work offline you will need to configure an export with the relevant information for your task. Then, you will be able to import the file again and all the information will be loaded in the Editor.

Info

Note that as a user you might have some restrictions to work offline. If you have any doubts, check with your project manager or administrator the details of your user rights.

For more information about format compatibilities check the page using the new XLIFF format to work offline.

by clicking on the eye icon Image Removed, on the top left corner of the extended view.

...

By default, the system will always load the current view of your Editor. You can see these elements already loaded in the left side of the popup window.

There are also some preloaded export templates available (revisions report, offline translation and offline revision).

Some file formats may give you the possibility to change the way the information is displayed in the document.

  • Word and excel exports will allow you to organize contents vertically and horizontally.
Just mark all the elements you want to include in your export and the way you want to display them.
  • xliff export does not allow any layouting at all.
Info
titleWarning

Never modify the structure of the file once it has been exported.

Any modifications in the structure of the file will cause errors when importing the project back to the editor.

...

Here you can fully customize your export template according to your needs. Just select which fields you want to include in your export (they will all appear on the left side of the popup).

  • In the settings area you will be able to name your file and set some relevant information about formatting.

  • In the segment area you can include general information about the segments (which is usually displayed in the first column).

Keep in mind that some of the categories only include existing information. This means that:

  • if you want to be able to import comments to the system, you will need to include the field add comments, otherwise it wont be possible to retrieve that information during the import.
  • if you are exporting the hits of your project resources, they will all be displayed in a static way.

You are now ready to start your work out of the CAT Editor! You will find all relevant information about how to fill any specific fields of your file under the page <WORKING Outside the CAT Editor>.

If your Project Manager has set you specific rights to work offline, you will be able to upload a file and send it to complete your assignment.

Either way, once you have submitted your file, you will need to go back to your job dashboard and set the job as complete.

To successfully import your project, you need to recover your previously exported file (filled with all the work you have performed offline).

Image RemovedImage Removed

Once you click on import, a popup window will appear allowing you to browse or drag and drop your desired file. Remember to select a valid file in order to avoid problems.

Image Removed

Once the system has processed the files, a report with the changes will be generated. You may want to keep that information for latter use.

If not, you can just go on and accept the changes. The editor will be loaded with your offline work.

Info

You can always decide to download your report afterwards. The report of your last import will always be available for download in the Import popup window.

Choose this option when you will be ready to deliver your work and complete your job.

If you were preforming a linguistic job it is very likely that you don't need to deliver any file, you will just need to change the status of your job in the Job Dashboard of the Wordbee Translator Platform or directly in the Editor, using the job status bar.

Submit as deliverable

After completing the last job of the workflow you will create your deliverable. This is the final file that will be retrieved from the translations available in the translation interface.

Info

Once the file has been created and the job is set to complete, the document will be locked for editing. If you wish to make any modifications, you must change the status back to in progress in the Job Dashboard.

Generating and renaming the finalised file

Once you click on Create file, you will have the opportunity to rename the document, which by default carries the same name as the original document.

Info

Use the Overwrite if file exists checkbox to replace the existing file if changes have been made since the last time the file was generated/updated. Note the job needs to be open to be able to apply this changes and you will only be able to save one file as final.

Options:

Here you will find a setting to define where the file should be placed in the project library:

Save to project as final translation* → This will save the finalised file inside the folder of the target language

Save to project as a source/target attachment → This will allow you to place the file as attachment for the source or target language.

Info

If you are using the Client Portal, you may have setup your workflow to directly transfer the finalised document to the related order. This happens with the files that are available as final translations (option 1 above, selected by default)

Once you click on Finalize, the file will be generated from the segments in the editor and a confirmation message will show up. When you close it, you will see the name and timestamp of your finalised file. You will also be able to download it directly from there :

More than a regular search bar

Image Removed

The power search bar is located in the center of your screen, just above the working space of the editor. This feature will allow you to perform different types of searches:

Simple search: look up in your document for some words/text strings, like in the search and replace tool.

Regular search: refine your simple search by giving some more restrictions (case specific, phrase match, wildcards or regular expressions).

Advanced search: narrow down your results by using and combining search operators. These are all the data categories that you can find in the CAT tool.  Some of them are contained in the statitstics view, but many others come from the different widgets and smart features available in the system.

tab serves multiple purposes. First of all, it allows access to all available project assets. More importantly, however, it is the central point for exporting and importing the source text and its translation for offline work in a third-party CAT tool. Furthermore, users can upload layouted translation files and create several revision and post-editing reports.
